Fundraising Ideas & Tips
Chances are, if you live in Arkansas, you have either had an experience at Arkansas Children's Hospital or know someone who has. Even those who have never been to the hospital recognize the tremendous asset in their own backyard.
Hosting a fundraiser is a great way to help ACH continue to provide top-quality healthcare to children. Below are a few hints that will help you hold a successful fundraiser to benefit ACH.
Host a holiday or birthday party and ask guests to contribute to Arkansas Children's Hospital in lieu of gifts.
Do you have a good relationship with your favorite local restaurant? Ask them to donate a portion of their sales (a percentage from one night) - then invite everyone you know to join you there for dinner.
Do you know a gourmet chef (or even a really good cook)? Ask them to donate and/or prepare a meal for your friends and charge $20 per person.
Think sports! Golf, tennis, bowling, running or cycling events are popular and engage the community.
Special events such as a progressive dinner, home tour, fish fry, car wash or pancake breakfast can be very successful.
Add a silent or live auction to your event. Solicit auction items from businesses or individuals in your community.
Become a Change Angel - collect spare change from your family and friends and see how quickly it adds up!
Enlist Others to Help
Request that your family, friends or spouse ask their friends and colleagues to support your efforts.
Ask for help at your workplace, church or club.
Post information in newsletters or in co-worker's mailboxes, make announcements at meetings or during church services, advertise your fundraiser on the intranet, send email blasts, set up an information table, etc.
Some companies will match employee gifts - ask your donors if their company will match their gifts, and ask your company if they will match yours. Matching gifts DOUBLE a contribution!
