When I make an online donation, how secure is my credit card information?

We are PCI compliant, which means we use industry-standard security software and systems.  When you make an online donation, your information is encrypted, which means it is scrambled so no unauthorized person can access it. The secure connection is maintained until the transaction is completed or terminated. You may also give us your information over the phone or by mail. 

If we collect information for payment purposes, it is stored on secure computers in a separate location from your contact information. We take every precaution to keep your information safe, but please understand that no one can guarantee that unlawful or inappropriate use by third parties will not happen.

What do you do with my email address? 

We ask for your email address on our new user sign-up, donation and membership pages. We will use your email address to send you online donation receipts and to communicate with you about our work.  We do not sell, rent or lend the email addresses of our subscribers, donors or website visitors.

What do you do with my personal contact information?

If you complete the Profile Update form and share your personally-identifying information, we do not share this information.  You will also be able to see some of your personal information from our organizational records and review it for accuracy. If you provide us your postal address, email address, or phone number, we may contact you about upcoming events and ways to support our work.  You may always opt-out of receiving future contact; see the "Opt Out" section below.

We do not obtain personally-identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary.

Except as might be required by law, we do not share any information we receive with any outside parties.

How do I opt-out or remove myself from your email list? 

If you would like to change the way we communicate with you by mail, email or phone, please email us or call 800-880-7491. 

Will you respect my desire for confidentiality?

We recognize our obligation to respect and protect your privacy.  Some donors prefer anonymity. We will respect the wishes of supporters who prefer their gifts remain confidential. Our employees who have access to your personally identifiable information in connection with processing donations or profile updates are required to keep the information confidential. They are not permitted to use this information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for the Foundation.

Do you track my visits to your site?

To help us make our site more useful to visitors, we gather general information about how people use our site. We use industry-standard website statistics software to count the number of users who visit our web sites, go to each page and to collect other general statistics.

We may share these anonymous aggregate statistics with other parties to provide general information about our services.  We do not share any information about individual users.

Why did you include a link to a different organization’s website? 

Throughout our website, we provide links to other websites that might interest you. We take no responsibility for, and exercise no control over, the organizations, views or accuracy of the information on those other websites. Can I reprint or link to something that I find on your website?

If you would like to publish information or use images that you find on our website, please send us your request . If you’d like to create a link from your website to our website, you don’t need to send us a request. Where text or images are posted on our site with the permission of the original copyright holder, a copyright statement appears at the bottom of the page.

What happens if I send you an email? 

We will try to respond to your email as quickly as possible.  We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer your questions. We may also use your email address to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest.

Can my child use your website?

Children should only use our website or provide information to us with the involvement of their parent or guardian.  

Is your site accessible to people with limited sight?
